Specialist Marine Consultants Ltd (SMC) has completed marine coordination work for Siemens on the Baltic 2 offshore wind farm.
SMC’s services included coordination of Siemens personnel movements, planning of daily transfers, conducting site inductions, and safety briefings. SMC also covered the event of emergencies and undertook vessel inspections to ensure fitness for purpose and compliance with relevant regulations.
Ian Coates, SMC’s managing director, said: “We’re happy to have completed another successful project with Siemens. We are proud to have made a positive contribution to Baltic 2.”
The 288MW Baltic 2 is now fully commissioned and able to supply 340,000 households with climate-friendly power. SMC’s involvement on the project began in July 2014, and the first of 80 turbines came online on 24th April 2015.
