DemoWind is now accepting Stage 1 (Outline) proposal submissions for the Joint Call 2016 , launched on 16 February.
Interested parties can create an account, add consortium partners and submit an outline proposal for their DemoWind 2 projects. Stage 1 proposals will be accepted up until 2pm CET on 5 May, 2016.
DemoWind 2 is a European Research Area Network (ERA-NET) Cofund Action programme, supported by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Framework Programme, to fund collaborative, trans-national offshore wind technology demonstration projects.
The DemoWind 2 Joint Call 2016 partners are funding organisations from the following five countries or regions: Belgium (Flanders), Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
These partners have reserved total resources of up to €16.5 million to help to fund collaborative offshore wind demonstration projects which will be delivered between 2016 and 2020. The maximum contribution of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Framework Programme to the call will be €8.1 million. Therefore, the total maximum Call Budget for DemoWind 2 2016 is €24.6 million.
DemoWind 2 is focused on enabling industry, through partnership, to push technologies mainly from Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 5-6 up to TRL 6-8 through transnational innovation demonstration projects. The programme aims to facilitate the cost reduction of innovative technologies to accelerate their commercial deployment by connecting European offshore wind demonstration opportunities and supporting knowledge exchange and collaborative working between existing and new European partnerships.
