The examination period for the proposed electrical infrastructure for the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm closed on 3 March, the UK Planning Inspectorate (PINS) reported, and the proposal is now in a decision stage.
There will now be a period of 3 months for the Examining Authority to consider and make a recommendation to the Secretary of State, who will also have a further 3 months to make the decision.
Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm submitted an application for a Development Consent Order (DCO) for the Triton Knoll Electrical System in April 2015.
As a result of responses to statutory consultation on the electrical system in 2014 and discussions with stakeholders, a number of changes have been made to the project.
Located approximately 32 kilometres off the coast of Lincolnshire, the Triton Knoll wind farm will comprise up to 288 turbines with total capacity of up to 900MW.
