Dr Ian Mays, RES Group’s CEO since its beginnings in 1981, will retire at the end of October to be succeeded by Ivor Catto, former CEO of Hyder Consulting.

Catto will join RES in May as deputy CEO and will be based at RES’ headquarters in Kings Langley. He will assume the role of CEO on 1 November 2016.

Dr Mays will remain involved with the business as a non-executive director of the supervisory board which oversees the activities of all the McAlpine Family businesses of which RES forms a part.

“Both technically and commercially, RES is one of the world’s most significant renewable energy businesses and I am excited about the opportunity to be passed the baton from Ian to lead its continuing growth and development. I would like to thank Ian for his support and I look forward to learning more from him over the next few months,” Catto said.
