On 28 April 2016, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will hold a New York Renewable Energy Task Force meeting to provide an overview of recent and upcoming activities regarding the wind energy development offshore New York.
Janice M. Schneider, Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management, U.S. Department of the Interior and Abigail Ross Hopper, Director of BOEM will be providing opening remarks at the meeting.
BOEM will present the details of a draft Proposed Sale Notice (PSN) for Task Force review and comment. The PSN is a public notice that BOEM will publish later this year in the Federal Register for a 60-day public comment period that solicits public input on an offshore wind lease sale for an area in Federal waters offshore New York.
BOEM’s New York Renewable Energy Task Force is an intergovernmental group. Task Force members include Federal officials and elected state, local, and tribal officials, or designated member representatives.
