Barge Master has received the Spotlight on New Technology award for its T40 motion compensated knuckle boom crane at this year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston.

“We are extremely honored to be receiving the Spotlight on New Technology award for our BM-T40 motion compensated knuckle boom crane. We are earnestly grateful for the recognition we have received by OTC’s Spotlight Award Committee for our work, and very proud to see our company name between the impressive list of other Award winners,” said Martijn Koppert , CEO of Barge Master.

The Barge Master T40 is capable of compensating an offshore knuckle boom/telescopic boom crane with a capacity of 15mT.

The servicing of wind turbines or unmanned oil platforms are typical applications of the Barge Master T40, which the company developed together with Bosch Rexroth. The system is based on the same principle as the Barge Master T700: roll, pitch and heave are compensated, while surge, sway and yaw are fixated.

Barge Master has delivered its first BM-T40 motion compensated knuckle boom crane last year , when the system was installed on Wagenborg’s walk-to-work vessel the Kroonborg.

In December 2015, the company launched its new motion compensated gangway , with tip compensation that allows landing on any type of offshore facility, without modification of the landing area.
