Danish Energy Agency (DEA) has published the final tender material for the development of 350MW of offshore wind capacity in nearshore wind farms.
The instruction to Energinet.dk to reinforce he transmission grid is expected to follow during May, DEA said.
The Danish Wind Industry Association (DWIA) welcomed the release of tender material, saying that, after both postponements and limitations of the space offered, those involved can now work in peace towards final bidding on 1 September.
“In recent weeks, we have seen drama and political focus on the nearshore offshore wind farms and therefore I am pleased that the tender documents are now released, so bidders can again get down to work,” said Jan Hylleberg , Director of the Danish Wind Industry Association.
Last month, the Sejerø Bugt site was excluded from the tendering process and the deadline for submitting final bids for other five sites pushed to September.
Furthermore, DWIA voiced its concern over Danish Energy Minister creating uncertainty within the wind energy sector and wanting to abandon nearshore wind projects.
The five nearshore wind farm sites being offered are Vesterhav Nord, Vesterhav Syd, Sæby, Smålandsfarvandet, and Bornholm.
