Gestamp Wind Steel and the Port Authority of Seville (APS) have signed a 50-year concession agreement which allows the Madrid-headquartered company to build a EUR 54 million factory for offshore wind turbine towers within the port.
The factory will cover an area of around 160,000 square metres, APS said.
It will employ 400 people and produce over 110 towers annually under the GSI Towers Sevilla brand.
GSI Towers Sevilla is part of GRI Renewable Industries, owned by Corporación Gestamp.
