VBMS has been awarded a contract by Vattenfall Vindkraft A/S for the installation of 33kV inter-array cables for the 400MW Horns Rev 3 offshore wind farm.
The wind farm is located in the eastern North Sea off the coast of Esbjerg, Denmark.
The works for VBMS are scheduled to be executed mid-2018 and will consist of supply, installation, CPS, post-lay burial, termination and testing of the inter-array cables.
“This contract represents an important milestone for VBMS as we installed our very first inter-array cable for the Horns Rev2 offshore wind farm back in 2008. We are very proud that we have been contracted for the Horns Rev3 offshore wind farm exactly 10 years later. The award reflects our successful track record and our ability to execute contracts safely, on time and within cost targets,” said Arno van Poppel, Managing Director of VBMS.
Vattenfall reached the Final Investment Decision on the project on 2 June. The wind farm, once commissioned in 2018, will be the biggest offshore wind farm in Danish waters.
