On Wednesday, the last three transition pieces for the Dudgeon offshore wind farm left Smulders’ yard in Hoboken.
Smulders and Sif have been in charge of the production of the 67 transition pieces for the project, developed by Statoil, which owns the wind farm together with Statkraft and Masdar.
“These TP’s were the heaviest and largest ones produced by Smulders so far,” Smulders said.
The first foundations at the wind farm site were installed in early April and at the beginning of this month, Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm Limited (DOWL) reported that the crane vessel Oleg Strashnov had installed half of the 67 foundations .
Dudgeon will comprise 67 Siemens 6MW turbines, and is expected to be commissioned by early 2017.
