The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult has appointed Thomas Arensbach, former Head of Offshore Projects UK at Siemens, as Senior Business Development Manager.
Arensbach has previously worked at Gamesa, A2Sea, Statkraft UK, UPC Energy Management and Vestas Offshore Wind.
Commenting on the new appointment, Andrew Jamieson, ORE Catapult Chief Executive, said: “Thomas’ extensive, international experience of developing offshore wind projects will prove invaluable to ORE Catapult as we continue to seek ways to lower the cost of energy from offshore renewables and maximise the huge potential economic benefits to the UK.”
Over his career, Arensbach has been involved at various stages of projects installed totalling 3,750 MW.
“It is an exciting time in the development of offshore wind, wave and tidal energy in the UK, with huge potential to be realised over the coming years as we look to the next decade. With its world-leading test and demonstration facilities and deep technical expertise, the Catapult is at the heart of realising that opportunity,” Arensbach said.
