Van Oord installed Osbit’s P-12R gangway system on the heavy-lift vessel Svanen, which has been initially deployed on the construction of the Burbo Bank Extension wind farm and will support offshore wind projects in the Baltic, as well as in the UK.
The gangway uses a roller system to allow vertical movement without operator intervention, thus enabling automatic adjustment to tidal conditions.
The P-12R access system is also fitted with a swivelling end step to enable safe access, even when the gangway is not facing directly onto the transition piece’s boat landing access ladder.
