Even though Vattenfall yesterday informed it made a final investment decision to build the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC), this did not mark an end of the fight against the project for Donald Trump, whose company Trump International Golf Links said it will file “formal written objections” in an effort to stop the project’s construction.
Trump plans to start another battle claiming planning conditions for the project have not been met, according to The Scotsman .
In December 2015, after the UK’s Supreme Court ruled against Donald Trump in his legal battle against the project, the billionaire, and one of the US presidential candidates, announced he will take the fight to the next level , namely to European courts.
Trump has been opposing the construction of the EOWDC claiming it ruins the landscape and the view from his golf resort in Aberdeen.
Meanwhile, the first official contract following Vattenfall’s decision to build the project has been signed, with Boskalis entering a EUR 100 million deal for the construction of the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC).
