The 10th turbine has been installed at Vattenfall’s Sandbank offshore wind farm, the company informed via its social media pages.
The first of 72 Siemens 4MW wind turbines at the 288MW offshore wind farm was installed at the end of July.
The erection of the towers on the foundations and the installation of the nacelles and rotor blades is being carried out by the installation vessel MPI Adventure .
The offshore substation was put in place in April. The 72 foundations or the wind turbines were fully installed in mid-February 2016.
The Sandbank offshore wind farm is being built 90 kilometers west of the island of Sylt in the German part of the North Sea. The EUR 1.2 billion project is expected to be put completely into operation at the beginning of 2017.
