Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jack-up installation vessel Brave Tern will now commence its transit back to Europe for final demobilisation in Esbjerg, Denmark, after it installed the final wind turbine at the Block Island Wind Farm yesterday.
“The Block Island Wind Farm project has truly been a team effort. As this project is the first ever offshore wind farm constructed in the US, it has required meticulous planning and preparations to ensure the safe and efficient completion,” said project manager at Fred. Olsen Windcarrier, Eskil Røset.
The company stated that the US market has a large untapped potential, which could provide significant growth to the industry.
Technicians from Global Wind Service (GWS), a Fred. Olsen-related company, have carried out the offshore assembly work for the project under a separate contract for GE Renewable Energy.
