SeaRoc Group has won contracts for its Health and Safety services to provide advice and support to players involved in the offshore wind industry in Japan.

The company will provide a full day training course to an expected 100 attendees consisting of developers, banks, insurance companies, EPCI contractors and members of industrial associations such as JWPA and OEAJ.

The training, provided in association with ClassNK Consulting Services, will be held in Tokyo on 17 November 2016.

The purpose of the training will be to raise awareness of the importance of HSE management and HSE risks associated with the offshore wind project life cycle.

In addition, SeaRoc Group has been selected to share their experiences of the European offshore wind market in relation to training certificate requirements for offshore workers and advise on methods in which Japan could develop certification standards to manage HSE for offshore working.

SeaRoc Group will be working with Nagasaki Marine Industrial Cluster Association to provide advice on effective HSE management for the Japanese offshore wind industry.

Kelly-Ann Ee, Head of HSEQ at SeaRoc Grou, said: “We’ve made movements into the offshore wind market in East Asia and are becoming recognised as an authority to support companies in the growth of the sector. Our experience in the industry dates back to 2002, at the very start of the commercialisation of offshore wind, and the companies we are working with in East Asia are keen to learn from our experience and use our expertise to guide them as the offshore wind market here evolves.”
