Denmark is about to get a national Scale-Up Center for the Offshore Industry with the aim of accelerating growth within the country’s offshore oil & gas and offshore wind sectors.

The Danish Business Authority (Erhvervsstyrelsen) and the five Danish regions have already committed to investing in this offshore industry cluster.

Together with Offshoreenergy.dk, Esbjerg Business Development, The South West Jutland Development Forum and the energy company SE, the partners will establish the Scale-Up Center in Esbjerg on 1 January 2017.

By anchoring the Scale-Up concept in the offshore industry cluster, the ecosystem of the industry gets a vital injection, Offshoreenergy.dk said.

Not only will the scaleable enterprises in the offshore oil & gas or offshore wind industry get the best conditions for growth; the demand-driven innovative solutions from the scaleable enterprises will strengthen the established offshore companies, which will in return support the continuous growth of Scale-Ups.

“The Scale-Up program provides expert knowledge and training programs tailored to the individual business. It brings companies together so they can learn from each other and gain experience. More experienced companies that have already been through a course at Scale-Up Denmark have a lot to offer,” said Anders Hoffmann, Vice President at the Danish Business Authority.
