The Newhaven Chamber of Commerce is organising an information event in Newhaven to discuss the latest developments with the 400MW Rampion offshore wind farm currently under construction off the Sussex coast.
Chris Tomlinson, Development Manager, Rampion EON Climate and Renewables, will be the guest speaker at the event and he will bring those in attendance up to speed with this project.
The Rampion project recently reached a major milestone following the installation of all of the wind farm’s 116 foundations at the site.
Tomlinson will also discuss the progress on the construction of the wind farm’s new Operations & Maintenance base at Newhaven Port, which is now well under way.
Once it is completed – mid to late next year – there will be an opportunity to tour the marine centre and see how the operations work.
There are also plans to charter a vessel for an offshore visit next summer to see the turbines in action.
The information event will be held at the Hillcrest Centre, Bay Vue Road, Newhaven, on Tuesday, 29 November. The event will start at 6 pm local time.
The GBP 1.3 billion Rampion is being built 13km off the Sussex coast by E.ON, the UK Green Investment Bank plc and Canadian energy company Enbridge. The project is due to be completed and fully operational in 2018.
