Colchester-based CWind supplied crew transfer vessels (CTVs) to assist with blade repair operations at E.ON’s Robin Rigg offshore wind farm.

CWind deployed a MPC19 vessel and the SWATH Endurance on Robin Rigg.

The MPC19 benefits from having a low operating draft, which makes it ideally equipped to operate in the shallow waters at the Robin Rigg site, whilst the SWATH Endurance enables technician transfer in rougher seas, CWind said.

Lee Andrews, Managing Director CWind, said: “We have a very strong working relationship with E.ON, having supplied our vessels to deliver a number of key operations at Humber Gateway. We were delighted with the contract win and are pleased to be able to support these works at Robin Rigg using our fuel efficient and reliable CTVs.”

The 180MW offshore wind farm, located in in the Solway Firth, comprises 60 3MW Vestas turbines installed across two sites: Robin Rigg East and Robin Rigg West. The wind farm has been operational since 2010.
