Rotterdam Offshore Group (ROG) has started expanding its facilities in the Waalhaven to accommodate vessels of up to 320m in length where previously the maximum vessel length was 200m, and to increase the storage facility from 14,000m² to 21,700m².

According to the managing director, Martin van Leest, the company is seeing a rise in activities, including mobilisation/demobilisation of offshore wind installation and transport vessels.

ROG has acquired the land and buildings neighbouring the existing premises to expand the quayside, storage and office capabilities. In March 2017, the company will start demolishing its existing buildings and constructing a new office and workshop. All staff will move to temporary offices within the newly acquired premises until project completion, planned for the end of the year.

“We have been at 90% berth occupancy and our current storage capacity is running at close to 100% utilisation, which is fantastic in the current economic climate. This initial expansion will mean we can service not just more, but larger vessels and this will be followed by works to develop our quayside capabilities and inclusion of a floating dock,” Martin van Leest said.
