German foundations manufacturer Erndtebrücker Eisenwerk (EEW) opened a new production facility at the Verbrugge Zeeland Terminal in Vlissingen, The Netherlands, on Thursday, 9 March.
The opening of the new facility marks the start of the collaboration between EEW and the logistics company Verbrugge Terminals.
In addition to providing a specifically adapted warehouse, Verbrugge is also responsible for the logistic support for the incoming pipes, which are produced by EEW in Erndtebrück, Germany, and for loading pin piles destined for the North Sea offshore wind projects.
The direct benefit for EEW resulting from this cooperation, is that for its plant in Erndtebrück, products can be directly shipped via the sea, Verbrugge Terminals said.
Moreover, with the Verbrugge terminal located in Flushing, EEW will also have an excellent option for future projects in the North Sea, in addition to its offshore wind hub in Rostock, which is strategically located for projects in northern Germany, the logistics company said.
The EEW production plant at the Verbrugge Zeeland Terminal has a surface area of 11,000 m2 and is equipped with three overhead cranes, customized doors and a specialised welding line that ensures the production of tailor-made tubes.
