China’s State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) and Mingyang Electric Group have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to promote development of offshore wind power in Guangdong.
According to the agreement, the companies will conduct in-depth cooperation in fields such as development of offshore wind power, industry cluster construction of offshore wind power, cooperation on offshore wind power technology, and international market development for offshore wind turbines.
SPIC has identified offshore wind as one of the key areas in the future development of the company’s domestic business, according to Wang Binghua, the Chairman of SPIC.
Binghua expects the two companies to complement each other’s offering, with Mingyang Electric providing equipment and services, and meeting investors’ needs in aspects of security, reliability, economy as well as a guaranteed level and capability of life cycle.
