Manor Venture’s First Galloper Push

The Manor Venture, Manor Renewable Energy’s new wind farm service vessel, has performed the first push test on the 336MW Galloper wind farm off Suffolk.

The Manor Venture, Manor Renewable Energy’s new wind farm service vessel, has performed the first push test on the 336MW Galloper wind farm off Suffolk.

The new WFSV started her sea trials in mid-March.

The vessel was built by the Manor Marine shipyard in Portland, Dorset and is scheduled to spend the majority of 2017 on the Galloper offshore wind farm for Siemens .

The vessel is one of the largest in its class, with an overall length of 26 metres and a beam of 11.2 metres, Manor Renewable Energy said. She has the capability to transfer 45 tonnes of deck cargo and 60,000 litres of fuel, the company said.

The vessel has a maximum speed of 28 knots, an extensive workable deck space and onboard accommodation, as well as galley and welfare facilities for up to 12 personnel plus crew.

Galloper offshore wind farm is expected to enter the turbine installation phase shortly. The 56 Siemens 6MW wind turbines are being pre-assembled at the Peel Ports Great Yarmouth prior to being transported and installed at the site some 30 kilometres off the coast of Suffolk.

innogy is leading the development and construction of the GBP 1.5 billion project on behalf of its partners, the UK Green Investment Bank, Siemens Financial Services and Macquarie Capital.

The wind farm is expected to be commissioned in late 2017, early 2018.
