Mech-Tool Engineering, a Teesside-based product manufacturer and supplier of fire, blast and radiant heat protection systems, has delivered a contract for Statoil’s GBP 1.5 billion Dudgeon offshore wind farm project.
Mech-Tool Engineering was commissioned by Sembmarine SLP to design, manufacture and supply fire and blast walls for the 402MW project.
The engineering company provided a full turnkey service to supply fire and blast walls with 1350m stressed skin panels.
Sembmarine SLP was awarded a contract to design and build the offshore substation platform for the wind farm. The OSS was installed at the site some 32 kilometres off Cromer, Norfolk in August 2016.
Due to become operational by the second half of 2017, Dudgeon is a joint venture between Norwegian based energy companies Statoil and Statkraft, as well as Masdar, an international investor in renewable energy and sustainable technology.
Mech-Tool Engineering recently announced the contract to supply fire and blast walls to be deployed on the 336MW Galloper offshore wind farm, a contract awarded by Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG).
