Bladt Industries has completed the stacking of the upper 3D structure to the lower 3D structure on the first of 30 jacket foundations built for the 588MW Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL) project.
The Danish manufacturer will provide 30 four-legged jacket foundations for the 84-turbine wind farm located in the Outer Moray Firth, Scotland.
The jacket foundations will have a height of up to approximately 70 metres with weights of up to approximately 900 tons – making them significantly larger than previous jackets structures fabricated at Lindoe, Bladt said.
The remaining 54 jacket foundations for the project are being produced by Smulders , and BiFab .
The GBP 2.6 billion BOWL project has been given the green light for construction by owners SSE (40%), Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) (35%) and Red Rock Power Limited (25%) after reaching Financial Close in May 2016.
The Beatrice wind farm will comprise 84 Siemens 7MW turbines and is expected to be commissioned in 2019.
