Scottish Renewables has appointed Claire Mack, currently Director of Policy and Place at SCDI, as the organisation’s new Chief Executive.
Prior to joining SCDI, Claire Mack spent 12 years at Ofcom, the communications regulator in the UK, latterly as Regulatory Affairs Manager in telecoms, radio spectrum and postal services.
“I am delighted that we have been able to identify such a strong and capable individual to be our next Chief Executive,” Patricia Hawthorn, Chairman of Scottish Renewables, said.
“Claire showed a real energy and a clear vision for our organisation and the sectors we are here to represent throughout the recruitment process. We are looking forward to working with Claire and the wider team at this time of both major challenges and opportunities for Scotland’s renewable energy sector.”
Mack will be taking over from Niall Stuart, who announced his intention to step down earlier this year.
Speaking on her appointment, Mack said: “I am delighted to be leading such a capable and professional team at Scottish Renewables. The role of the sector in driving wider economic growth in Scotland is evident and the opportunity to build on the expertise in innovation already here is very exciting. I’m looking forward to helping to secure the best possible environment for the industry to thrive in.”
