Wpd AG has placed its first promissory note loan in the amount of EUR 68.5 million for institutional investors to finance expansion plans in and outside Europe.
Wpd said that this step will enable the company to be independent from existing financing structures, while tapping additional financial sources for international growth.
Bayerische Landesbank has been the Sole Lead Arranger in the process.
“We are planning to continue our growth process in existing and new markets in Asia, Latin America and Europe, and we are looking for additional committed employees to support our teams.”, said the company’s spokesperson Christian Schnibbe .
Wpd is currently active in 18 countries in the onshore wind, offshore wind and photovoltaics sectors.
The company is engaged in nine offshore wind projects: Butendiek, Nordergründe and Kaikas in Germany, Storgrundet in Sweden, Suurhiekka in Finland, and Courseulles, Fécamp, Dunkerque and Oléron in France.
