All inter-array cables have been laid at the Race Bank offshore wind farm and the works on burial will be completed in the near future, DONG Energy, the owner and developer of the 573MW project off North Norfolk said.

DONG awarded the contract for the provision of array cable installation and trenching work on the wind farm to DeepOcean 1 UK Ltd. The inter-array cables were delivered by JDR Cables.

Earlier this week, Jan De Nul completed the installation of export cables for the Race Bank project.

Race Bank will comprise 91 Siemens 6MW turbines currently being installed some 17 miles off Blakeney Point.

The wind farm is being built out of DONG Energy’s construction base in the Grimsby Fish Docks and is expected to be fully commissioned in 2018.
