Those attending HUSUM Wind in Germany might as well start off the event today with an applause as the wind gave quite a performance yesterday, 13 September, forcing the organiser to evacuate four lightweight halls and to ultimately close the fair for the day. Now that the weather is calmer, the event proceeds as planned.

After strong winds were brought by the autumn storm Sebastian, the decision to evacuate the four halls and close the fair for the rest of the day was made in coordination with the public order office, the police and the Messe Husum & Congress safety team.

Peter Becker , managing director of Messe Husum & Congress said: “We are used to stronger winds in Husum; we’re not the home of the wind industry for nothing. But Storm Sebastian has forced us to make this decision so that we can guarantee the safety of the exhibitors and visitors. Tomorrow the fair will continue as usual.”

With the better weather and HUSUM Wind continuing to be held by 15 September, it is business as usual for the Offshore WIND team at the event. Our team can be found, safe and sound, at stand 2E26.
