MPI Offshore’s wind turbine installation vessel MPI Adventure has left the Port of Esbjerg, Denmark, with a final set of turbine components to be installed on the 400MW Rampion offshore wind farm.

Port of Esbjerg was the installation port throughout the entire construction phase with 15 load out operations conducted, the port said.

The Rampion wind farm is located off Sussex, UK, and comprises 116 MHI Vestas 3.45MW wind turbines.

MPI Discovery installed the first turbine at the site in March.

The wind farm is being built by E.ON, the UK Green Investment Bank plc and Canadian energy infrastructure company Enbridge.

It is due to be completed and fully operational in 2018.
