Zbridge BV, a company established by Ztechnologies, informed today (3 October) that its walk-to-work system has been installed on the Construction Support Vessel (CSV) Sun Enabler to support operations at the Race Bank offshore wind farm.
The Zbridge W2W system, contracted by Østensjø Rederi for the Sun Enabler, was mobilised mid-august in IJmuiden and is currently working at DONG Energy’s UK wind farm.
The system compensates the movement of the vessel for pitch, roll and heave. With an elevator, the system provides direct access for personnel and cargo to the +18-meter level of an offshore structure. This allows continuous access for personnel and cargo of up to 500kg without undocking the system, Zbrisge said.
Last year, Ztechnologies completed sea trials for the new offshore access system, which had been tested during the summer in 2016 in the North Sea.
