Energinet.dk and 50Hertz have selected Greece-based Assodivers for cable burial works at the Kriegers Flak Combined Grid Solution (CGS), a project that will interconnect Danish and German grids via Kriegers Flak and Baltic 2 offshore wind farms.

Assodivers will carry out the burial and protection of approximately 2 x 24 km of submarine cable route, which will be divided into trenching and jetting work for the Kriegers Flak CGS connection.

The works includes, inter alia, boulder removal, pre-trenching/trenching, jetting, covering the Trench, as well as surveys and documentation.

The Kriegers Flak and Baltic 2 wind farms are located less than 25km apart and will be connected via the two submarine cables delivered by NKT cables. In December 2016, NKT awarded VBMS with a contract for the installation of the 150 kV AC high-voltage submarine cables for Kriegers Flak CGS, with the project scheduled to be carried out in Q2, 2018.

The CGS project is the world’s first interconnection between two countries that also connects two countries’ offshore wind farms.

Assodivers has recently been involved in the submarine cable connection works between the Veja Mate offshore wind farm and the BorWin Beta platform. The company was appointed by Prysmian to execute the cable installation and protection works.

Prysmian also chose Assodivers as a subcontractor for the pull in operations of the HVAC cable No.281 at the Wikinger offshore wind site, which connects the offshore substation to the Lubmin substation in Germany.
