Palfinger Marine has secured a large scale order of 151 cranes in total for Trianel windpark Borkum II, Hohe See and Albatros offshore wind farms located in the German part of the North Sea.

Palfinger Marine has won a contract for the complete crane supply for all 32 Senvion 6.2M152 wind turbines for the Trianel windpark Borkum II.

The company will deliver 32 PK40002M hydraulic foldable knuckle boom cranes to be installed in the nacelles and 32 PSM400 electro-hydraulic stiff boom cranes to be mounted on the platforms.

The nacelle cranes will be handed over between July and December, while the delivery of the DNV GL approved platform cranes is scheduled between February and April 2018.

Additionally, Palfinger will deliver 87 platform cranes in total for the 610MW Hohe See and Albatros, Germany’s largest offshore wind farm, being constructed as a joint project by EnBW.

Siemens, the wind farm’s main EPCI contractor, awarded Palfinger with a contract for the delivery of 71 PF8000 fixed boom cranes to the Hohe See wind farm, and another 16 to Albatros.

The deliveries for the Hohe See project will run until the end of this year, while the 16 cranes to be mounted at the Albatros wind farm will be handed over in February or March 2018.

Rupert Reischl , Palfinger’s Global Sales Manager – Wind Cranes, said: “These large-scale orders show that all our efforts over the last 15 years in the offshore wind business are paying off and we are on the right track. Being selected for another EnBW/Siemens wind farm project after the successful collaboration in the course of the Baltic II project proves that our customers are satisfied with our premium-class cranes. It is also a huge success and strengthens our market position that we have been chosen as the complete crane supplier for the Trianel Borkum II wind turbines.”
