Subsea Technology & Rentals Ltd (STR) and SENSYS have established a partnership for providing STR’s global offshore energy customer base with access to SENSYS’ u nexploded ordnance (UXO) detection system.

According to STR, the active and passive multi-channel UXO system can be ROV, ROTV and vessel-deployed for underwater geophysical survey, pin pointing and infrastructure monitoring.

Neil Jackson, Sales and Operations Manager at STR, said that the company’s area of strength is in the support of its clients during the growth of the offshore renewables sector, which has resulted in a key focus on marine UXO operations, adding that the company sees SENSYS products as a perfect offering of field proven solutions.

Wolfgang Süß , Managing Director at SENSYS, said: “We are pleased to work with STR on the promotion of SENSYS products and competence. We envisage this relationship will allow SENSYS to grow much faster from our well established land based markets and diversify into the subsea sector to cover a variety of sensitive applications requiring reliable state-of-the-art sensors and solutions.”

The UK-based STR is a designer and manufacturer of advanced subsea technology for the offshore energy industry, and a supplier of marine equipment for the support of offshore surveys, IRM, subsea construction and renewables sector, while SENSYS is a German provider of magnetic and electromagnetic ground survey systems and components.
