Siemens Convergence Creators, a Siemens subsidiary that recently signed an eight-year contract for its SCADA Networks and Telecommunication Systems to be used at Ørsted’s offshore wind farms, has been acquired by Atos, a specialist in digital transformation.
Atos announced its intent to acquire Convergence Creators (CVC) from Siemens in October 2017.
Atos said that CVC, focused on innovative R&D and turnkey solutions, will accelerate its technology leap, bringing specific software and hardware IP assets notably to enlarge its cybersecurity and communication solutions. These combined offerings will strengthen Atos’ credentials and ability to deliver the latest mission-critical systems and secured networks while increasing Atos’ penetration in the Telco market and enable access to high-growth markets such as satellite and civil airplane manufacturers and operators, the new owner of CVC stated.
Furthermore, Atos pointed out that CVC’s presence in Germany, the US, and Central and Eastern Europe will offer a strong basis for activities all over the world.
