Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult is holding three workshops in the UK in January in order to inform local companies on how to be involved in projects for the Chinese offshore wind market.

The first workshop will be held in London on 16 January, followed by workshops in Newcastle on 17 January and in Glasgow on 18 January.

Mid-December 2017, UK’s ORE Catapult, China’s Tus-Wind and TusPark Newcastle signed a collaboration agreement to work together in advancing offshore wind technology cooperation between the two nations.

According to ORE, UK companies can now be directly involved in technology projects for the Chinese market. Precisely, local companies have the opportunity to provide innovative technologies for a 500MW offshore wind demonstrator project in the Shandong Province.

The first technologies identified to collaborate on are array cable and foundation installation/monitoring; operations, maintenance and service; turbine optimisation and reliability; electrical infrastructure development and validation; and wind farm site planning and development.
