Bibby Marine Services plans to have up to 30% share in the Service Operations Vessel (SOV) market, roughly corresponding to a fleet of five to six SOVs by 2025, the company’s CEO Stephen Bolton said.

The next SOVs will be more than likely ordered against contract, according to Bolton, but a speculative vessel such as the company’s first SOV, the Bibby WaveMaster 1, could also be ordered again.

The company plans to stay with the Damen 902 platform for the new SOVs, with the changes most likely being made to the gangway technology and secondary systems used, Bolton said.

Watch our Expertise Hub video and find out more about the Bibby WaveMaster 1’s performance at the Galloper offshore wind farm, as well as the company’s further plans for the future.
