Danish-headquartered company Creadis, focused on asset management and operations and maintenance (O&M), has opened its first UK base on the East of England coast, in the in OrbisEnergy building in Lowestoft, to serve the UK offshore wind sector.

Creadis UK will focus on servicing engineering, O&M and asset management with specialist areas of technology trouble shooting, retro-fit and life time extension, as well as decommissioning.

Given the company’s core competence is turbines with expertise in turbine design and operation , Creadis UK Managing Director Morten Basse said: “This is why we are here. Other asset management and O&M companies don’t come from turbine development side, they come into wind from the other industries like oil & gas. The UK has the biggest O&M market and the East of England is where the most capacity has been installed so far and will continue to be as far as we can see.”

At its launch on 1 February, the company announced its collaboration with Great Yarmouth-based 3sun Group as its “execution partner.” The company’s collaboration with 3sun Group began in Denmark, where 3sun also has an office. “We are an engineering and design company; we are not executioners for any project with a customer. On projects where we need execution, we will team up with 3sun Group as our execution partner,” Basse said.

According to Morten Basse, Creadis UK’s business strategy is to employ up to twelve local employees by the end of this year , rising to up to 40 by 2020, expanding staff as projects are secured.
