Denmark plans to set aside around DKK 210 million to fund testing of wind turbines outside the established test centers in Høvsøre and Østerild.

The proceeds of the fund will go towards expanding the country’s existing turbine testing capacity with four new test sites.

The Danish government will make legislative proposals for the establishment of the new fund, to be used throughout 2018 and 2019, in March.

The initiative was prompted by the fact that the existing facilities are currently fully booked, according to the Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate.

The proceeds of the fund will be used to expand the country’s test capacity to 35MW by 2019.

Test turbines set up outside the two national test centers will receive a fixed price supplement for 20 years of 11 øre/kWh in 2018 and the average of the winning bids in 2018 if set in 2019.
