Bladt Industries started the delivery of Hornsea Project One transition pieces (TPs) and anode cages last week by loading the first six TPs and anode cages onto SAL Heavy Lift’s vessel at Bladt’s facilities in Aalborg, Denmark.
The company has been contracted to deliver 124 transition pieces and anode cages for Ørsted’s Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm some 120 kilometres off the Yorkshire coast, where the first of the 174 transition pieces is now installed .
Bladt expects the last load-out to take place in Q3 2018. Meanwhile, the company is also working on the three substations and the Reactive Compensation Station (RCS) for the 1.2GW project.
Hornsea Project One will comprise 174 Siemens 7MW wind turbines installed across an area of 407 square kilometres. The wind farm is scheduled for commissioning in 2020.
