Service Operations Vessel (SOV) Edda Passat has arrived in Grimsby ahead of deployment on Ørsted’s Race Bank offshore wind farm in the UK.
The SOV arrived in Grimsby from the Port of Gijón, Spain, where it completed a two-week sea trials program .
Edda Passat and its sister vessel Edda Mistral were built by Astilleros Gondan for Norwegian shipowner Østensjø Rederi, who named and launched the two SOVs last month.
Edda Mistral, expected to be delivered in August, will operate at Ørsted’s Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm in the UK.
Ørsted’s 573MW Race Bank offshore wind farm, built out of the company’s construction base in the Grimsby Fish Docks, comprises 91 Siemens 6MW turbines installed off the North Norfolk coast.
The wind farm achieved full power output in early February. A team based in Grimsby will be responsible for carrying out the O&M work during its lifetime.
