Acta Marine’s walk-to-work (W2W) vessel Acta Auriga has arrived from Ulsteinvik, Norway, to the port of Eemshaven, the Netherlands, where it will be prepared for its first work on the BARD Offshore 1 wind farm.

Acta Marine took delivery of the newbuild Acta Auriga from Ulstein Verft on 28 March, after the vessel completed its sea trials .

Acta Auriga has the capacity to accommodate up to 120 persons and provides cargo areas of 1,000 square meters, indoors and outdoors, with a container skidding system and space for up to 24 containers. All cargo handling is centralized, with stepless transfer to the cargo and personnel lift, and likewise over to the wind turbines.

The overall logistics and the SMST motion compensated gangway , and integrated elevator tower will secure stepless transfers of people and cargo in significant wave height up to 3 meters. SMST also delivered the 3D motion compensated knuckle boom crane which can handle 6t cargo in sea conditions up to Hs 2.5 meters.

Ocean Breeze Energy, the operator of the 400MW BARD Offshore 1 wind farm, chartered Acta Auriga for a period of two years.

The vessel will be operating out of Emden, Germany, and will provide logistical support for maintenance activities in the German North Sea.
