Peter Madsen Rederi (PMR) has appointed former Siemens Wind Power Project Director and Head of Project Management, Michael Normann, as CEO as part of its commitment to building a presence in the offshore wind sector under the new management.

In his previous appointments at Siemens Wind Power and Vestas, Normann was in charge of several large-scale offshore and onshore wind projects over the past 17 years, the company said.

“I am very excited to join PMR who has been established as a quality service provider to the offshore wind industry since its early days around 15 years ago,” said Normann.

“The industry has developed tremendously over the past few years and I am looking forward to developing the activities at PMR further to maintain a strong presence in the sector.”

PMR has worked on offshore wind projects in Denmark, UK, Germany, Sweden, Holland and France, with the most recent activity including the removal of boulders at the 385MW Arkona offshore wind farm in the German Baltic.

The company owns and operates six specialized vessels equipped with either hydraulic excavators or grab wire cranes, all fitted with advanced positioning and monitoring systems and spud legs, as well as a dedicated survey boat.
