GeoSea’s jack-up vessel Innovation is currently undergoing maintenance at the Port of Dunkerque in France, after which it will return to the Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

Innovation arrived at the French port on Friday, 11 May, for the maintenance services at the Damen Shiprepair Dunkerque.

Prior to arriving at Dunkerque, the jack-up had installed the first suction bucket jacket foundations on Ørsted’s Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farm.

The wind farm will comprise 56 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines installed on 20 suction bucket jackets and 36 monopile foundations, the first of which was installed at the site some 38km off the island of Borkum in March.

The 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 is scheduled for commissioning in 2019.
