The Parkwind-Valeco consortium, pre-selected for developing an offshore wind farm in the Dunkirk area in France, is calling for contributions which could help in the future realization of the project.

According to Parkwind, the aim of the dk4wind call for tenders is to enable local companies to participate in the realization of the project by offering concrete, feasible and sustainable solutions that can be implemented in the design, installation or operation of the wind farm.

Companies based in the Dunkirk and Hauts-de-France areas are qualified to apply with ideas for logistics solutions, fishing and maritime activity, tourism and culture, R&D and innovation, initial and in-service training, among others.

The consortium also welcomes ideas related to the products or services that have an economic and societal value for the project, as well as projects bringing changes in the installation, operation and maintenance practices of offshore wind farms.

The deadline for submitting applications is 11 June, while the seven winners will be announced at the award ceremony on 20 June.

The first three will receive an EUR 6,500 support in total and the remaining four will sign a partnership agreement for implementing their ideas at the offshore wind farm should the Parkwind-Valeco consortium win the contract. In case the consortium is not chosen for the development of the project, the idea will be implemented at one of Parkwind’s operational offshore wind farms in Belgium.

The Dunkirk area is part of France’s third round of tenders for the development of offshore wind chosen for its favorable conditions and supported by the region’s elected officials.

Besides the Parkwind-Valeco consortium, the Commission de régulation de l’énergie (CRE) has pre-selected Vattenfall, Statoil, Iberdrola in consortium with RES, Elicio, a consortium of Engie and EDPR , Deme Concessions Wind, a consortium of EDF EN with Innogy and Enbridge, and the Canadian Boralex with CMI5i Pastor as potential developers of the project with a capacity of between 250MW and 750MW.
