Following the acquisition of offshore and blade activities from the bankrupt compatriot Total Wind A/S, the Danish Global Wind Service (GWS) has integrated more than 150 former Total Wind employees into the company and reinitiated all projects.
Service work is now carried out at the Horns Rev I offshore wind farm, with blade campaign teams mobilized and technicians currently mobilizing for Horns Rev III, GWS said.
According to the company, pre-assembly at the Port of Esbjerg in Denmark is running as planned.
“It is no secret that it has been quite a challenge growing with more than 150 employees and several projects overnight,” said Lars Bo Petersen , CEO of GWS.
“But our organisation has been absolutely amazing and has made an incredible effort to get our new colleagues integrated and get all project up and running to the benefit of our customers. At the same time, it has been a pleasure to see how engaged and committed our new colleagues has been to get well on board GWS.”
With the acquisition completed in May, GWS took over works for Vattenfall on Horns Rev I, activities for MHI Vestas on Horns Rev III and at the Port of Esbjerg, as well as various blade repair projects in Europe.
