Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has established an office in New York City, U.S., with an opening ceremony held on 4 September.
According to the company, the new office represents another milestone in addition to its investment portfolio and pipeline of more than 4GW in America, comprising offshore and onshore wind, as well as solar projects.
The announcement comes after Vineyard Wind, CIP’s joint venture with Avangrid Renewables, secured the rights to build an 800MW offshore wind farm some 14 miles south of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.
“While CIP has already had a presence on the ground with several existing energy projects and project offices in the US for some time, it is with great pride we now open our New York office, which will be staffed by a strong and experienced investment team of energy infrastructure specialists, including both CIP veterans and newly hired US citizens, including William Demas, the local team head,” said Jakob Baruël Poulsen , CIP Managing Partner.
“CIP sees a great potential in the US energy infrastructure market, and with an investment pipeline of more than 4 GW, CIP expects to continue to commit capital to several new projects over the coming years.”
To remind, Danish law firm Bech-Bruun also recently opened an office in New York to support CIP in establishing closer working relationships with clients on an international level.
