German wind turbine manufacturer Senvion has appointed Yves Rannou as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective from March 2019 at the latest.

The news comes after Senvion’s recent announcement about the resignation of Jürgen Geißinger, the company’s CEO since December 2015.

Rannou will now succeed the current interim CEO and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Manav Sharma, who will keep his role of CFO.

“We are delighted to announce Yves’ appointment as CEO given his deep experience working in renewables. Yves is a proven executive whose skills and expertise ideally complement the existing management team. We are confident that he is the right leader to execute Senvion’s growth strategy and position the business for future success,” said Steven Holliday , Chairman of Senvion’s Supervisory Board.

According to Senvion, Rannou has more than 20 years of global senior executive experience in renewables. Most recently, he acted as President and CEO of GE Renewable Energy’s Hydro division, a position he was appointed to in November 2015.

Before his GE appointment, Rannou worked at the France-based Alstom, where he held the position of Senior Vice President of the hydro business, as well as of the wind business, where he was in charge of all activities related to offshore and onshore wind. He also served as a member of Alstom’s Renewable Power Sector Executive Committee.

“I am thrilled and honoured to be joining Senvion at a truly exciting time for the wind industry,” Rannou said.

“Senvion’s value proposition, its customers and suppliers, and most importantly our team are great assets for further international expansion, sustainable growth and value creation for our partners. I look forward to work together with Senvion’s more than 4,000 talented employees to provide clean solutions for our planet.”
