Australia-headquartered Neptune and the Taiwanese subsea services company Global Aqua have formed a partnership to jointly work on offshore wind projects in Taiwan.

The partnership will see the two companies jointly providing services in the areas of site investigation, construction, operation & maintenance, and decommissioning.

Neptune Chief Executive Officer, Robin King , said: “This partnership demonstrates the continuation of Neptune’s strategy to provide our expertise to the renewables sector. Taiwan is a really exciting market with which to be involved and through our partnership with Global Aqua our Survey, ROV, Diving, Stabilisation and Asset Integrity Services are available to offer Clients a flexible, bespoke, cohesive and cost-effective project solution.”

Taiwan awarded 5.5GW of offshore wind capacity to be developed by 2025 in two tendering rounds held earlier this year.

The country’s first offshore wind farm, the 8MW Formosa 1 Phase 1, started operating in April 2017.

The 120MW Formosa 1 Phase 2 is currently being developed and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2019.
