The BorWin gamma topside has been installed onto its jacket foundation at the offshore site in the German North Sea.
According to TenneT, the installation was completed today, 11 October, around noon through a float-over process.
The fabrication of the topside for TenneT’s 900MW BorWin3 HVDC platform was completed at the end of August at Drydocks World – Dubai.
Shortly after, the structure began its journey from the United Arab Emirates to the installation site some 130km off the German coast, at which it arrived on 7 October.
The BorwWin3 grid connection is scheduled to be fully commissioned in 2019 when it will start to deliver the power generated by offshore wind farms to the German grid.
